Dedalo – Elena Assante

Beautiful painting of Dedalo (Italian spell for Daedalus), symbol of wisdom and knowledge. He created the Labyrinth in Crete for King Minos, to imprison the Minotaur. Later Dedalo himself was imprisoned in the labyrinth and he created the wax wings for his son Icarus, to escape the prison. But Icarus fled too close to the sun, melting the wings, and falling to his death
